The annual Southern Tier Scholastic Science Fair has celebrated its 20th year at SUNY Broome!
The Science Fair brought 55 students in grades 5-12, participating from nine schools in the region. Each student was able to show off their project to several judges as well as talking to STEM professionals and educators in the community. Students were given the opportunity to receive awards that were donated by local businesses, STEM lifelong learners and institutions. Some notable sponsors include, Lockheed Martin, Miller Auto Team, BAE Systems, UHS, Raymond Corporation, and SUNY Broome.

In addition to receiving prizes for their hard work, students also participated in three different space themed activities. The activities offered students to be able to build and launch their own paper rockets, build their own star maps, and even get an up close view of our constellations and closest planetary neighbors, Mars inside the planetarium!
