SUNY Broome Sound Engineering students from the Music Association traveled with music professor Eric Sheffield on Saturday February 29 to SUNY Oneonta to attend the first annual Take a Leap Music Industry Conference. The event featured multiple panel sessions with industry professionals from Motown Records, Sony Music, Good Fight Entertainment, and more. Students also had the opportunity to participate in several networking activities in which they met fellow sound and music students from SUNY Oneonta and other schools, local singer/songwriters, and other people currently working in the music industry.
Multiple generations of SUNY Broome’s Sound Engineering program were represented at Take a Leap, from first-year students to alumni. Our strong representation at this event is a testament to the ambition and talent of our students.
