Sarah Espe pitched six innings for the Hornets, allowing just four hits and striking out six Hawks.

Game 2 saw Broome hold a 2-1 lead after the first two innings. Mohawk Valley countered with four runs in the third and five runs in the fourth. Broome was trailing 10-3 in the fifth when the team pushed across three runs in that inning but it wasn’t enough as Mohawk Valley survived to take game 2, 12-6.
