SUNY Broome women's soccer team defeated a short-handed Niagara County CC, 8-1

The women’s soccer team defeated a short-handed Niagara County CC, 8-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Thunderwolves fielded nine players in the match and were under pressure from start to finish, evident by the 32-2 shots on goal in favor of the Hornets.

Broome was led by Dana Stepp with 2 goals and 4 assists followed by Arianna Michitti with 2 goals and 2 assists and Emily Kane with 2 goals for the 6-1 halftime lead.

A Michitti picked up her third goal of the contest in the 64th minute and Mariella Michhitti picked up her first goal of the season in the 89th minute for the final tally, both courtesy of an assist from Stepp. Abbey Lyon and Avery Kenyon also contributed with an assist apiece.

Broome improved to 2-0 while Niagara fell to 0-2. Broome has a busy weekend traveling Saturday to Syracuse to face Onondaga CC at 1:00 P.M. before returning home for a Sunday afternoon game against Mohawk Valley CC, also at 1:00 pm.
