SUNY Broome  men's soccer team won their second match in a row in a weather-delayed contest against Finger Lakes CC

The men’s soccer team won their second match in a row in a weather-delayed contest against Finger Lakes CC Sunday afternoon, a 7-4 win on Alumni Field. Broome scored a season-high 7 goals in the contest, 6 of them coming in the first half from four different players.

Eric Arduino opened the scoring six minutes into the match from a pass from Yuri Brich. Mateo Lata had the next three goals for the Hornets while Birch and John Simmons provided the assists for Lata’s hat trick. Nathaniel Wojcik closed out the scoring in the first half scoring two unassisted goals.

A weather delay in the the 52nd minute of play hampered both teams but Jason Kretzmer managed to place a shot into the side netting to seal the win in the 78th minute for the Hornets.

Broome improved to 3-4 with the win and Finger Lakes fell to 0-7.

Up next is a 4:00 pm matchup against the SUNY Cortland JV team in Cortland on Wednesday.
