SUNY Broome women's soccer team hosted the St. John Fisher JV team

The women’s soccer team hosted the St. John Fisher JV team on Wednesday and fell 6-1.

Three goals were scored early on in the contest as with the visiting Cardinals up 1-0, Briana McQuade found the back of the net for the Hornets and tied the game at just the 3:49 mark. St. John Fisher would quickly respond, however, to go back ahead 2-1. Their lead was maintained with another goal in the first half and three more in the second.

The Cardinals had a consistent and unwavering offensive attack for the entirety of the contest, putting up 28 shots. Broome registered eight shots in the match- three from Zephora Brouillette, two from Jessica Wells, two from McQuade, and one from Kara Sullivan.

Carly Hein performed well in her season debut in the goal for Broome, racking up 15 saves, which ties a season-high in the category with Madeline Hyzer.

The Hornets drop to 0-4 on the season and will look to check the box on their first win when they welcome the Saints of North Country CC to Alumni Field on Saturday at 1 p.m.
