The men’s soccer team conceded 15 goals over the weekend, falling 8-0 on Saturday to the NJCAA’s #2 Herkimer College followed by a 7-0 loss to Region III contender Fulton-Montgomery CC on Sunday.

Saturday’s game against the Generals showed promised in the first 30 minutes of the match with Yuri Brich and Mateo Lata combining for 4 shots on goal. The play was back and forth before a PK was awarded to Herkimer giving the visitors a 1-0 lead they would continue to add to. Eric Yingling had a valiant effort in goal with 15 saves in the match.

The long Saturday made for a longer Sunday with a road trip to Johnstown and a 1:00 pm match against Fulton-Montgomery. Like Saturday, the Hornets had a strong showing to start the match, showing moments of brilliance until running out of steam. Nathaniel Wojcik and Eric Ardiuno led the offense while Andrew Buckler and Jacob Waibel kept the defense in check. Yingling added another 9 saves to his totals on the weekend.

The men return home on Wednesday for a 4:00 pm match against Hudson Valley CC.
