SUNY Broome will exclusively be using the Schedule Planner program in MyCollege when Spring 2023 registration opens on Monday (October 31st).

Need help getting signed up for classes? A short instructional video is available.  Also, the Academic Advising Department will offer “RegFest” support for students as well.

Academic Advising Department Chairperson Kate Taylor explained that Schedule Planner was a registration option in past semesters, but to best assist students in meeting their academic goals, the college will only be using that program for Spring 2023 registration.

To make sure that students have the support they may need, Kate said, “We are fortunate to have a great group of well-trained student workers and advisors that are ready if students have questions or difficulty with their registration.”

STEM Academic Advisor Brad Perl added, “It is critical that any students needing help with signing up for classes contact our office as soon as possible. Courses may fill very quickly and waiting, especially if there is an issue or question that we can help with, may cause students to not get their best schedule for next semester.”

STEM and BPS Academic Advisor Maureen Breck indicated, “We have been doing training with our student workers to make sure that any student needing help can get their questions answered and sign up for courses as easily as possible.” Kate wanted students to know that “RegFest” support will be available every weekday that the college is open and students can reach out to the Academic Advising Department by phone if they are not on campus. Brad added, “It is important that we do our best to offer the same services to students on or off campus. If students are not on campus, they can still be fully supported over the phone.”

Students will need their advising and registration information when coming in for help or calling the Academic Advising Department. Maureen also stressed the importance of students still making advising appointments, so they can sign up for classes right away. Maureen said, “Academic Advisors have met with a lot of students already, but we know there are more that we want to help get ready for next semester. Any student that hasn’t been advised needs to contact us before their classes fill!”

“RegFest” will be available through the Academic Advising Department in Student Services Building Room 210 or over the phone by calling +1 (607) 778-5421 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, along with Wednesdays through Fridays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Students can make an advising appointment by visiting SS-210, calling the above number, or visiting SUNY Broome Academic Advising.
