Professor Zeggert’s Grapefruit Slice has been juried into the Salmagundi Club’s 43rd Annual Open Painting and Sculpture Exhibition.
The slice was created with highly chromatic glazing techniques and several passes of a velatura layer or whitish veil. The goal was to create a play between thick and thin paint while creating various textures illuminated in an unusual light pocket.
The Salmagundi Club is located in Manhattan at 47 Fifth Avenue @ 12th Street. The exhibit runs through June.
