Instructor Rich Harrington will be teaching a section of ART 226: Advanced Computer Imagery for the Spring ’23 semester in the Applied Technology building, AT 217.
Mr. Harrington’s course builds on the fundamentals of Graphic Design and applies them to real-world creative projects. The course utilizes industry standard Adobe Creative suite software, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and InDesign CC to create advertising and promotional programs for print, and web. The business of setting up a freelance business is also addressed in this course.
Mr. Harrington references his experience working with the partners of Pentagram Design, Ltd., London when conducting the course, which is set up to reflect the way a professional design studio operates. Creative meetings and robust critiques include dynamic exchanges and interactions with each member of the creative team (class).
This course provides significant experience for transfer to a Visual Communications program beyond SUNY Broome.
*Prerequisites ART 125: Intro to Computer Graphics and ART 115: Beginning Drawing have been waived for the Spring ‘23 semester.
ART 226 is cross-listed with COM 226 for those following a Communications major. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm – 2:50 pm in the Mac lab, Applied Technology 217.
