On July 1, 2023, Dr. Tony D. Hawkins officially assumed the role of SUNY Broome’s 8th President! A native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, President Hawkins is our newest neighbor in the region!
As President of our community’s college, Dr. Hawkins is deeply committed to immersing himself into the culture of the Southern Tier. He can’t wait to work collaboratively to support and enhance the educational and workforce development resources in the region.
Dr. Hawkins will be spending the rest of the summer learning about his new home via President Hawkins’ Southern Tier Adventures.
Together with friends from the community, President Hawkins will explore all of the foods, places, and experiences that make our great region so unique!
The best place to start is with trying the Southern Tier delicacy that is “the Spiedie.”
