The SUNY Broome Physical Therapist Assistant senior students attended the annual New York American Physical Therapist Association conference held in Saratoga from Oct. 17 through 19, 2019.

The students attended day-long continuing education courses that focused on Medicare documentation and cardiac pathology and rehabilitation. The students had the opportunity to network with physical therapist and physical therapist assistant clinicians and students from across the state of New York. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to interact with medical equipment vendors, physical therapy based job recruiters and transfer college recruiters.

One of the highlights of the trip was the students’ attendance at the 50th Anniversary of Physical Therapist Assisting Gala. The students were able to take part in the very first Physical Therapist Assistant of Distinction Award given out in New York State.

The students were accompanied by Physical Therapist Assistant faculty Julianne Klepfer, Denise Abrams, Lynnette Maslin and Joelle Meyn.

A great and informative time was had by all!
