The SUNY Broome Concert Band is performing in a special joint concert with the Hartwick Wind Ensemble on March 14.

Our students are very excited to travel to Oneonta to perform three works by American composers Clare Grundman and Joseph Wagner. Professor Karen Clark will be conducting the SUNY Broome Concert Band.

The Hartwick Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Andrew Pease, is presenting a varied program centered around the acquisition of their brand new 5-octave marimba.  They will be performing the Gillingham Marimba Concert #2, as well as works for wind band by Ticheli, Mackey, and Harris.

To conclude the concert, both ensembles will play together Larry Daehn’s exquisite piece “With Quiet Courage” and Sousa’s stirring march “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

We are looking to build an audience willing to travel with SUNY Broome to Hartwick on March 14.  The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in the Anderson Center at Hartwick College. Admission is free. Interested? Contact Professor Clark at 607-743-2607 or clarkke@sunybroome.edu.
