October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed annually in October to raise awareness of domestic violence, support survivors, and promote prevention.

A prominent symbol of this awareness is the color purple, which represents peace, courage, and solidarity with survivors. Purple ribbons will be displayed throughout campus on lampposts and trees during the month of October.

Additionally, October 16 is National Wear Purple Day. The campus community is encouraged to participate.
