BINGHAMTON, NY — 75 years ago, both SUNY Broome and Binghamton University first opened their doors to the community. To mark the special occasion, SUNY Broome President Kevin Drumm and Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger were accompanied by Stinger the Hornet and Baxter the Bearcat to celebrate! The group gathered at the SUNY Broome Culinary & Event Center to reflect on their history and exchange stories while enjoying cake featuring their respective logos.

“We are so excited to be sharing this momentous milestone with our sister institution, Binghamton University,” said Dr. Kevin Drumm. “You can’t help but marvel at our achievements over the past 75 years. Tens of thousands of students and graduates have passed through our doors over these 75 years, and many through both institutions’ doors thanks to our partnerships and transfer! We are so grateful for our relationship with Binghamton University and look forward to even more collaboration in the future.”

“We’re happy to share a birthday with SUNY Broome. Both schools have accomplished so much in 75 years. We hope to carry forward the partnerships we’ve built and continue to serve as two leading institutions of higher ed in the Southern Tier,” said Dr. Harvey Stenger
