SUNY Broome Women's cross country runner Amber Neumuth took 5th place at the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championships

Women’s cross country runner Amber Neumuth took 5th place at the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.

The event was hosted by Finger Lakes CC and the distance of the race was a 5K for the men and the women.

Neumuth, the lone runner for the SUNY Broome women’s cross country team, finished in 5th place and recorded a time of 35:57.1.

This was a positive showing for Neumuth in that she bested her previous time on the Finger Lakes course by more than 30 seconds. Earlier in the season, Neumuth ran on the same course for the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational and logged a time of 36:28.7 at the 5K distance.

The MSAC Championships mark a strong finish to the season for Neumuth, having made a considerable improvement in her 5K time from the first meet of the season to the final meet of the season.
