The men’s soccer team traveled to Jamestown CC on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the game 5-0.

The Region III contest saw the hosting Jayhawks get on the board very early with a goal in the seventh minute. Jamestown added another goal just seven minutes later to take a 2-0 advantage. Another goal in the 25th minute put the Jayhawks up 3-0 entering halftime.

The Hornets looked like they had an opportunity to score on a few occasions early in the second half of play, but the attack was shut down each time.

Maintaining a 3-0 lead, Jamestown tacked on two more goals in the second- one in the 75th minute and one in the 77th minute- to win the contest 5-0.

Ryan Rizzi and Mjhed Bher led the offensive attack for Broome. Goalkeeper Dean Patterson collected seven saves in the net.

The Hornets move to 0-6 on the season with the loss. They return to action on Sunday when they visit the Genesee Cougars, who currently sit at 3-3 on the year. The road matchup is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
