The men’s basketball team fell to Region III opponent North Country CC, 100-88, on Saturday evening. The Hornets had a slow offensive start led to a 56-29 halftime deficit. Despite winning the second half 59-44, Broome still fell short as they ran out of time in their comeback attempt.

Freshman guard Frank Richards led the way in scoring for the Hornets with 26 points on 7-11 shooting, six of those points coming from behind the arc, he also added 3 assists to his totals. Jalin Pitts had a strong game, posting his second straight double-double, with 20 points and 18 rebounds, to go with his 4 assists. Daquan Campbell turned in 14 points and 5 rebounds, and K-Cie Salmon also scored in double figures with 12 points, adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Matthew Paige chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds of his own.

Broome will face Herkimer College in a Region III contest on Saturday, scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
