NYSEG Lineworker

SUNY Broome is proud to announce the launch of our new Lineworker Training Program in partnership with NYSEG and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 10.

This program will allow those with no prior experience or training to become job ready for this in demand and highly skilled field. Students will have both classroom and hands-on training at the NYSEG pole yard, complete a paid internship, and upon successful completion of the program they will have interview opportunities with NYSEG.

Prospective students must have a high school diploma or GED, be eligible to obtain and maintain a CDL, and pass a drug screening.

Information sessions begin on the SUNY Broome Campus on Monday 1/22 at 4 pm, and will continue through February. As part of the application process, prospective students will have to complete a physical assessment at the NYSEG training yard in either February or March, with the program beginning in April and running through October.

For more information and to sign up for an information session, check out our website at sunybroome.edu/lineworker and contact us at workforce@sunybroome.edu or 607-778-5643.
