SUNY Broome Community College Library

Faculty, staff and students at SUNY Broome can share their scholarly and creative works with the public through our repository space in the SUNY Digital Repository (SDR) and the SUNY Open Access Repository (SOAR).

Here are some benefits of sharing work in the institutional repository:

  • Increased visibility. Documents in SOAR get indexed in Google Scholar
  • Better discoverability. Documents in the repository are added to SUNY Broome’s library catalog
  • Meet grant mandates. Some research funders require that research outputs be freely available to the public, such as through an institutional repository

SUNY Broome’s digital repository can also host:

  • Faculty and Student produced scholarly/academic publications and conference presentations/posters
  • Teaching materials, such as syllabi, assessments, documentation of innovative teaching methods
  • College archive material

Content in the repository can be highlighted in SUNY Broome digital collections on the library website.

If you are interested in having your work included in the repository, or if there is exemplary student work you would advocate for inclusion, fill out the SUNY Broome Digital Repository interest form and a librarian will set up a time to discuss it.
