Journaling is not only a great way to develop your writing skills, it helps you relax, teaches you to reflect inwardly, and might even teach you something new about yourself!
What’s more fun that learning more about yourself? Sharing those thoughts and realizations with others! We’d love to learn more about who our Hornets are as individuals and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas with fellow students.
Here’s your challenge:
Commit to journal twice per week following the journaling prompts found below for specific dates.
Share your thoughts to your social media – through Instagram with a meaningful photo, on Facebook in a journaling group you’ve created, or even through forming your own blog!
Use the hashtag #HornetsJournal2020 when you post your thoughts.
Try to use this time to inspire fellow students, reflect on what you are thankful for, give others something to ponder, or just to make someone smile.
Those that post their journal entries on the specified dates to their social media will be entered to win a $50 Barnes & Noble Gift card! Every five journal posts gets you one entry. Do all the posts and get four entries!
Posting dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Contest runs through 5/14/20.
Here are your dates and journaling prompts:
3/26 – What kind of day are you having, and why?
3/31 – What’s something you’re good at? What makes you good at it?
4/2 – Do you have a philosophy of life? If so, what is it? If not, what is your method for making important decisions?
4/7 – What do you know to be true today that you didn’t know a year ago?
4/9 – Find a verse, poem, or quote that inspires you in your current situation and write it down
4/14 – Spring Break! (optional) post of your choice
4/16 – Spring Break! (optional) post of your choice
4/21 – What is one thing you can do to take care of yourself today? Write it down and make it happen!
4/23 – If you were an animal, what would you be? Why?
4/28 – If you could meet anyone in history, who would it be and why?
4/30 – Choose 3 photos of yourself across your lifetime and write about where you were, what you were doing, what you were like, etc.
5/5 – Name 2 people that have had a major impact on your life in a positive way
5/7 – What is a common misconception people have about you? What do you wish they knew?
5/12 – What things have you done that you are most proud of?
5/14 – Looking back at your life what is one thing you regret the most? What is one thing you are most thankful for doing?
