On the day before Mother’s Day, here’s a “two-fer” that should make your mom smile. Get yourself a nice, hearty meal (“the better to help you study, my dear”), and, at the same location, pick out a lovely hanging basket to give as a gift.
On Saturday, May 11, Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main St., Binghamton, will host a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. (or until sold out). A full dinner, with sides and dessert, is $10; a half chicken is $6.
While you’re at Tabernacle, check out the church’s annual plant sale, perfect for Mother’s Day gifts and spring planting. Hanging baskets, perennials, flats of annuals, etc., will be on sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
