Hispanic Heritage Month honors the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans from September 15 to October 15, aligning with the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including Mexico and Chile. This month showcases vibrant traditions from over 20 countries and highlights the significant impact of Hispanic communities on U.S. history and culture. Celebrations include art, music, food, and activities that foster unity and pride in Hispanic heritage.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we highlight demographic data about our Hispanic student population (excluding Fast Forward), showcasing our dynamic and engaged Hispanic student community.

Nearly 11% of the total student body identifies as Hispanic, showcasing the growing presence of students possessing this rich heritage on campus! This is an enrollment increase of 50 students since last year.

Continuing Students account for nearly 51% of Hispanic enrollment, highlighting their dedication and persistence at the College.

Over 67% of Hispanic students receive Pell Grants, highlighting the importance of financial aid in supporting their educational journeys.

Hispanic student success has seen notable improvements, with Fall-to-Fall retention rates increasing from 46.2% for the Fall 2019 cohort to 50.7%, as can be seen in the below graph.

Graduation rates have also increased! Hispanic student 3-year graduation rates have increased from 11.8% for the Fall 2015 cohort to 16.9% for the Fall 2019 cohort. That is a 5.1 percentage point increase!
