Antonio Maria was the third Hornet to reach the 20 point threshold as he finished with a line of 20 points, five assists, four rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.
Three 20+ point performances and two double-doubles pushed SUNY Broome men’s basketball to a 115-102 2OT win on Saturday.

Despite trailing 42-31 after the first half, the Hornets evened the score at 81 at the end of regulation and forced an overtime period. The score remained tied at 94-94 at the end of the first overtime, before SUNY Broome erupted for 21 points in the second overtime to win 115-102.

The Hornets were fueled by outputs of 20 or more points from three different players, as well as two double-doubles. Antuan Darden continued his dominant start to the season by leading SUNY Broome in scoring with a 22 point, 19 rebound double-double. He added four assists and two blocks to his effort. Amauri Truax followed with 21 points, just nearly missing a triple-double, also collecting eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Connor Green notched the second SUNY Broome double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Saturday marked Darden’s fourth straight double-double and Green’s third double-double in four games. On the young season, the two are averaging 16.8 ppg and 13.8 rpg and 14.8 ppg and 12.3 rpg, respectively.

Braeden Davis also landed in double figures for the Hornets with 12 points on three three-pointers, adding nine assists.

SUNY Broome will return to action on December 4 at home to host Erie CC at 8 p.m.
