Students training for emergency services careers during SUNY Broome's Mock Disaster.

Adults seeking to start or complete their associate degree through SUNY Reconnect now have an additional option at SUNY Broome!

Homeland Security & Emergency Management has been added to the list of Reconnect-eligible programs, bringing Broome’s total to 24. The field includes homeland security and emergency management at the local, county, state, and federal levels. Exercises like Mock Disaster will help prepare students for careers in these fields. Students already working in fields like Law Enforcement, EMS, or Fire may qualify for credit for prior learning.

SUNY Reconnect provides free community college to New Yorkers, ages 25 to 55, who have not yet earned a college degree. The program covers the remaining cost of tuition, fees, books, and supplies after all other financial aid is applied.
