Career Services is excited to share that SUNY Broome is launching Handshake, our new career management platform for students on Monday, March 2nd.
Handshake will be our central hub for jobs, internships, and career events, connecting SUNY Broome students with employers who are specifically looking to hire them.
What students can do in Handshake:
Create a profile that highlights their skills, experiences, and career interests
Search and apply for jobs and internships
Register for career fairs, workshops, and employer events
Receive personalized recommendations based on their interests and program
Connect with employers and explore career paths
How students join Handshake:
Students can get started in just a few minutes:
Go to: Sign up at Handshake
Log in with their SUNY Broome credentials.
Complete their profile (major, graduation date, interests, experience, etc.).
Please encourage students to activate their account and complete their profile as soon as possible so they can start seeing relevant opportunities.
How you can help:
You play a key role in making this launch successful!
You can:
Mention Handshake in class (especially when discussing careers, internships, or assignments tied to real-world experience).
Share the join link.
Encourage students to:
Activate their account and fill out their profile to at least 70–80%.
Check Handshake regularly for new jobs, internships, and events.
Refer students with questions to Career Services for one-on-one support.
Timeline
Handshake will go live for students on: Monday, March 2, 2026.
Students will begin receiving official email communications with instructions and reminders starting this week.
