SUNY Broome is delighted to announce that two students have been honored with the 2025 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence – Wilber Granados (Health Studies – SUNY Broome) and Hiba Khan (Individual Studies – SUNY Broome). The Chancellor’s Award is the SUNY System’s highest honor, which acknowledges students for their outstanding academic achievements, campus involvement, and community service.

Wilber Granados
Wilber Granados hails from Bayshore, NY. The Health Studies student is set to graduate in May with the hopes of entering a Dental Hygiene program. His leadership roles on campus include Student Assembly Vice President of Administrative Affairs, Resident Assistant in the Student Village, President of the Health and Human Services Club, EOP Peer Mentor, and member of Love You Like a Sister. In addition to all of his on-campus activities and responsibilities, Granados is a full-time Assistant Manager of Pollo Campero in Long Island, NY.

Hiba Khan
Hiba Khan was born in Karachi, Pakistan and was raised in Medinah, Saudi Arabia. She moved to the United States in January 2023 and began her studies at SUNY Broome in Spring 2023. Khan’s leadership roles on campus include Resident Assistant in the Student Village and Student Ambassador for SUNY Broome’s Enrollment Management Team. She has also held terms as Student Assembly Vice President of Student Affairs and as a Student Trustee.
