Dr. Bill Altman, of SUNY Broome’s Psychology & Human Services Department, has just been appointed by the American Psychological Association’s Board of Educational Affairs (BEA) to the Steering Committee to plan the APA General Psychology Summit (GPS).

The committee has been charged with drafting a proposal that will identify the important issues that need to be addressed at the summit, as well as determining the summit’s desired outcomes and program format. The Steering Committee will also be responsible for finding a site, identifying funding sources, and considering keynote speakers and working group leaders. In planning this summit, Dr. Altman will contribute to an effort that will have a major impact on the teaching of introductory psychology in the United States and abroad.
