Global Conversations; Creating connections from home. DePaul University

DePaul University in Chicago, part of SUNY’s Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Global Network, invites SUNY Broome students, faculty, and staff to join in on free Global Conversations throughout the world, live on Zoom. DePaul is continuing an initiative it began in 2020 when the world began coping with Covid.

DePaul and its international faculty partners will be offering 17 sessions in April and May 2026, on topics as wide-ranging as A Public Health Approach to Suicide Prevention, The Future of Language-Related Professions in the Age of AI, and Sustainable Transport Futures.

The format involves a brief talk by 2 professors followed by break-out sessions where student voices are centered.

These conversations offer students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to have a live international experience without leaving home. They introduce all to some of what is beloved about COIL, and they might serve as a great extra credit opportunity for faculty to consider offering to their students.
