The SUNY Broome Dental Hygiene program has been selected as the 2022 recipient of the Program Innovation Award from the Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State.
The award is a direct result of the partnership between the Dental Hygiene program and the HCA (Helping Celebrate Abilities) Association. The Dental Hygiene program faculty invite HCA nurses to speak in classes about providing services to patients with special needs, and our students are provided hands-on clinical experience with this population to learn how to provide appropriate and sensitive care. It is an incredible honor and a testament to the excellence of our Dental Hygiene program to receive this award.
Maureen Hankin and Carole Stanley, who is an active champion of this program, will be attending the NYS Cerebral Palsy Associations’ Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs on October 25, 2022, to accept the award.
