Course Outcomes Dashboard: Student Success and Equity at a Glance
The Course Outcomes Dashboard provides an overview of student performance and equity across courses at the institution. It focuses on two key measures – DFW rates (withdrawals, D’s, and F’s) and C or Better rates – to highlight patterns of both non-success and success at the course level.
The dashboard includes three pages: an Overview page that explains key concepts and navigation, a DFW page that examines where students are most likely to withdraw or earn non-passing grades, and a C or Better page that focuses on course success rates. Interactive academic and student filters allow users to navigate between pages and explore course outcomes by academic area, program, instructional context, and student characteristics, supporting data-informed conversations about equity and improvement.
This newly added dashboard is now available to support campus-wide exploration of course outcomes and equity. Data is reported at the course level. Faculty members who are interested in receiving course data related to the specific sections they teach can submit a Data Request, which can be accessed at the Institutional Effectiveness website.
DFW Dashboard:
The DFW page displays course-level DFW rates for the most recent five academic years, highlighting differences between Underrepresented Minority (URM) and non-URM students. Non-URM students includes all students identified as White or Asian, while URM students includes all students except for White, Asian, or Unknown. Summary metrics at the top provide a quick snapshot, while the table below allows users to review DFW rates by course. Users can apply filters to view data specific to student type such as New-First-Time, or Full-Time vs. Part-Time.
C or Better Dashboard:
The C or Better dashboard shows course-level success rates focusing on the percentage of students earning a C or higher. Summary metrics highlight overall success rates and equity gaps, while the table below shows course specific data. Users can also filter this information in the same way as the DFW Dashboard.
