Help

Struggling with some personal matters?

Some mental health matters?

Having a hard time reaching out for help?

We understand. We really do!

There is a lot of stigma around mental health and reaching out is often hard to do for many of us. But, we are here to help – we can help you make the process of taking care of your mental wellness easier. Look at it this way – by taking care of all aspects of you – you are better poised for success, personally and academically. If you didn’t sleep for 3 days you would struggle staying awake in class and functioning in the rest of your life – you would make time to sleep and hopefully feel better. Sleeping will improve your functioning. Counseling can help improve your functioning just the same. We can help you sort out your struggles and learn ways to cope and navigate in the college setting. We can help you get on a path to feeling your best.

Mindfulness Monday out of the Counseling Corner:

Some check in Questions:

It is important to check in with yourself – this time in the semester may be just the right spot to check in and ask yourself the following questions:

  • What scares me and how can I overcome it?
  • What are my stressors?
  • What is something I find inspiring?
  • What are my strengths?

The thing is, it’s too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and not even realize your mental health is suffering. If you never take time to figure out and process underlying feelings of stress and anxiety, those feelings can build up and lead to burn out.

Counseling Services can help – Call +1 (607) 778-5210 or email us at counselingservices@sunybroome.edu, or check us out at Counseling Services to schedule an appointment with one of our trained professionals.
