As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient workplace, IT Security Awareness Training is an annual requirement for all employees. To protect both your work and SUNY Broome, it is critical to complete these trainings, which are updated each year as cybersecurity threats continue to evolve. This year’s training includes important updates to ensure you are current on new challenges, such as the latest phishing techniques, enhanced strategies for safeguarding data, and emerging cybersecurity trends.

Please log into the training portal by Dec. 20 to confirm you can access the materials. The training website is provided in the daily email reminders. You can also login to mycollege.sunybroome.edu and then click on “Security Awareness Training” underneath the “Employee” tab on the left hand pane.

Those who do not complete security awareness training by Dec. 31 are subject to enhanced security measures to mitigate risk, including:

  • Required weekly password changes
  • Loss of access to SSL VPN capabilities, preventing remote access to the College’s systems.

These are necessary steps to safeguard the institution’s systems and information. For questions or assistance, please contact ITSecurity@sunybroome.edu as soon as possible.
