SUNY Broome Hornets play Onondaga CC
The Hornets fell to Onondaga CC, currently sitting at #4 in the latest NJCAA D III Basketball Rankings, on Wednesday night by a score of 69-52 in Allyn Hall.

Broome played the Lazers even through the first half and took a one point lead into halftime before Onondaga exploded for 28 points in the third quarter, 12 of those points coming from the Lazer’s Hannah Durand. The third frame proved to be the demise of the visitors as the first quarter went to Onondaga 14-11, the second quarter to Broome 14-10 and the final quarter to the host team 17-16 for a combined score of 41-41.

Ava Eichler led all scorers with season high 29 points to go with her 2 boards, 2 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals. Megan Carden added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals and Melissa Carden chipped in with 6 points and 3 boards. Dana Stepp had a team high 6 assists and 5 steals to go with her 4 points.

Broome will host a MSAC contest this Saturday at 1:00 pm against Cayuga CC before heading out on the road Monday for another MSAC game against Finger Lakes CC in Canandaigua.
