Megan Carden and Melissa Carden are recognized for their efforts on the court prior to the start of the game.

The Hornets fell to Jefferson CC on Tuesday evening in the Baldwin Gym, 60-45, on Sophomore Recognition Night.

The night saw Megan Carden and Melissa Carden recognized for their efforts on the court prior to the start of the game. Despite 20 turnovers in the first half by the host team, the Hornets managed to keep it a one point game, going into the half down 25-24. The third quarter started out with the visitors going on a little run before Broome started to answer that run, but a controversial call cut into any momentum the Hornets had going, a call they could not recover from.

Broome saw balanced scoring led by Ava Eichler’s 12 points and Melissa Carden had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Brooke Ladd contributed with 9 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocks while Dana Stepp added 7 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 5 steals. Megan Carden chipped in with 7 rebounds, 6 steals and a block to go with her 4 points.

Broome finished the regular season with a record of 12-10; 8-6 MSAC and now wait for the Seeding Committee to meet Thursday evening to find out where they will be seeded in the Region III Tournament and whether they will host or travel this Saturday.
