The baseball team made the trip out to Western New York on Tuesday for a doubleheader against Niagara County CC and dropped both games of the twinbill, 11-0 in game one and 5-0 in game two.

In game one the Hornets fell behind early to the nation’s 5th ranked Thunderwolves behind home runs by Trent Wasserman and Andrew Fairbrother in the first inning. Tanner Russin took the loss on the hill for the Hornets, allowing 9 runs on 4 hits in three innings.

The second game saw Niagara get out to an early lead again when Vincent Stutz doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Mitchell Taylor led the way for Broome with two hits in the game, one single and one double. Jacob Garey was the only other Hornet to pick up a hit in the contest. Jack Symons picked up the loss for the visitors, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits in five and one third innings.

Broome is scheduled for their home opener on Hornet Field this Saturday against Finger Lakes CC with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 pm.
