Broome dropped both games of their doubleheader on Thursday afternoon to Onondaga CC by scores of 16-3 and 15-14.

Game one of the twin bill saw the Lazers put ten runs up before the Hornets put a couple of runs up of their own in the bottom of the fourth to make it 13-2. Onondaga answered back with three more in the top half of the fifth while Broome could manage only one more run. Tyler Kopolow and Tanner Russin doubled in the opener and, Mitchell Taylor, Justin Fleming and Nate Bennett each singled for Broome. Taylor took the loss for Broome, he went two innings, allowing seven runs on two hits and striking out one.

Broome let a fourth inning 10-2 lead slip away in the second game of the day. In the top of the fifth the Lazers tacked on seven runs and added two more in the sixth to take an 11-10 lead into the last inning. Onondaga plated four runs in the seventh as did Broome, falling just one shy of sending the game into extra innings. Jack Symons, Jacob Garey, Kopolow, Taylor, Fliming and Russin all had multiple hits in the nightcap led by Taylor and Fleming with three hits each. Jamie McWherter and James Grausgruber each singled for a total of sixteen hits for the host team. Russin got the start on the mound, the pitcher went four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one. Cody Lewis picked up the loss for Broome, the righty went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on four hits.

Saturday will be a road trip for the Hornets when they travel to Batavia for a doubleheader at Dwyer Stadium against Genesee CC, first pitch scheduled for 2:00 pm.
