On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo received a well-deserved thank you for her unwavering support of SUNY Broome as the College unveiled a plaque in her honor at the SUNY Broome Culinary & Event Center in downtown Binghamton.

Lupardo played a key role in revitalizing the historical Carnegie Library building into what is now the vibrant Culinary & Event Center in downtown Binghamton. This plaque will serve as a lasting reminder of our appreciation for her advocacy and commitment.

Lupardo has devoted herself to the betterment of the surrounding area, including the SUNY Broome campus and its students. Originally, this building, the Carnegie Library, was a community center for academic enrichment, creativity, and success. Lupardo saw the potential to take the building from the worn-down library, into a thriving center for meetings, lectures, parties, and even weddings.

We want to thank Assemblywoman Lupardo for her efforts in creating a vision, gaining community support, and creating a wonderful space for the SUNY Broome campus and community.
