Saturday’s Art Exhibition and Adoption Event at the Broome County Dog Shelter was an incredibly fun and successful day.
Approximately 200 attended the event consisting of students, family, friends, and community members. The event showcased the art of Professor Zeggert’s Art 115 drawing and Art 116 painting classes. This event also provided students with an example of “Art at Work” demonstrated by experiencing the impact of art as it enters the community with intention.
A portion of the shelter was transformed into gallery space displaying the student’s art. Students managed a raffle with donations from art and business students, Tom’s Coffee, and Creature Comfort which generated $148.10 in proceeds, all donated to the Shelter.
Several adoption applications were submitted, and two students applied to become shelter volunteers.
We are already planning the Fall Art Exhibition and Adoption event, contact Professor Zeggert if you would like to get involved!
