Aja Jackson has now won her third SUNY SAOTY award this academic year.
The recent SUNY Broome graduate won the SUNY Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in Fall 2023 in the NJCAA women’s cross country category, and then won the award in Spring 2024 for the NJCAA women’s track & field category. Now in the Summer of 2024, it has been revealed that Jackson won the Overall SUNY SAOTY Award in the women’s NJCAA category.
In the process of winning this award, Jackson beat out other female Fall and Spring award winners from NJCAA sports, as all previous winners were combined and an overall winner was selected from all of the candidates across all the sports they represented.
This recognition caps off an extremely impressive 2023-24 year for Jackson in which her academic and athletic excellence were noticed by many. In addition to graduating from SUNY Broome in the Spring with a cumulative GPA of 3.78, Aja finished 6th place overall at the 2023 NJCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country National Championships and was the National Champion in the 10K at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, among countless other accomplishments. Jackson took 1st place in the event at Nationals for the second year in a row.
Congratulations to Aja on a tremendous academic and athletic career at SUNY Broome!
