SUNY Broome Faculty & Staff

Greetings from the SUNY Broome Admissions Office,
The admissions team has been hard at work this past fall to meet with students and build stronger connections to our community. We are happy to share a summary of what we have been up to this fall.

The Admissions Office has participated in many different events to connect directly with students. This fall we have coordinated or assisted in over 175 different events between high school visits, College Express, Instant Admit events, group visits and larger campus wide events. The College Express program has seen a dramatic increase with the addition of 7 new partnering school districts. With the programming growing so rapidly, all College Express programming is now being organized by a committee from the Enrollment Division to streamline each step of the process. The admissions team meets regularly with a committee including Workforce Development and Housing in order to organize the events calendar and collaborate with other campus offices.

All of this work is not possible without partnering with other campus departments. We also want to thank everyone who worked with our office attending everything from larger events like Open House and the Greater Binghamton College day, to the smaller on-campus group visits. These collaborations allow for great connections between potential students and our devoted faculty and professionals.

In terms of application review, over 2300 students have received acceptances for the spring and fall of 2025. For spring 2025 competitive programs our skilled Admissions team has reviewed 469 applicants, and we are happy to report all programs have closed for admissions and are at or close to their goals. As we enter curtailment we are making sure all decisions are out ahead of the holiday season with good news for students.

This fall we have had Courtney Delello join the Admissions Staff as a part time Staff Associate. Courtney has previously worked at Hartwick and the Raymond Corporation, and is currently pursuing a degree at Binghamton University to work as a school social worker. Courtney brings great experience as well as organization to the staff and will be working in the front of the office while continuing with her degree. Sadly some staff have left our office as well. Part time Staff Associate Zach Nedblanski left early in the fall, accepting a position as the SUNY Plattsburgh Lacrosse coach.

Lastly, looking toward the spring we will continue to connect further with our local schools. Specifically we are looking to meet with Sophomores and Juniors ahead of class scheduling in order to prepare them for competitive programs, and career paths with Career Coach. We will be partnering with the Success Coaches to get in classroom’s and help provide career guidance students can use here and beyond. We also will have the Mobile Enrollment Vehicle (MEV) up and running again continuing visits in communities.

We look forward to the new year and to continue working with all our great partners across campus. Have a great holiday season!
