DON’T PACK YOUR BAGS or PLAN YOUR BINGE WATCHING JUST YET! SUNY BROOME IS STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS! THE SEMESTER CONTINUES; THINGS WILL JUST BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT!

Top 10 Things to Know:

  1. Your welfare is our priority. There will be modifications in the delivery of your courses and limitations to extra and co-curricular activities. Staying WOKE is your responsibility! Monitor the website and portal for the latest information. It gets updated daily. Stay in touch with your faculty. There are no confirmed cases of COVID 19 in Broome county or at the College.
  2. Because courses will be making more use of technology to get you through the term, there will be trainings for students. You need to know how to use the technology. Check the website or portal for scheduled trainings. The computer labs will be open for students.
  3. Food Services, Day Care, and Follett will be open and operate as usual.
  4. Student Support Services like Personal Counseling, Career Services, Tutoring, the Library, etc.will all be open for business. Practice sound hygiene.
  5. Extra and Co-curricular activities will be limited dramatically! Student travel has been cancelled. Activities will be limited to minimize density impact. SUNY provided guidelines for activities and events which the college will abide. Check with Student Life if you are wondering about your event.
  6. Although many activities have been cancelled, a determination will be made about the graduation ceremony at a later date. We understand how important the ceremony is for you and your family. STAY HEALTHY!
  7. Take the recommendations about your health seriously. Stay abreast by checking this website.
  8. Practice good hygiene, restrict your travel, and minimize your interactions in large crowds.
  9. If you feel ill, especially if you feel like you have flu symptoms like a fever, chills, runny nose, sore throat, get to the Health Services Center. There is also Lourdes and UHS TELEMED Limit your interactions with others. THIS DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN YOU HAVE THE CORONAVIRUS!
  10. Lastly…Yes, this CORONAVIRUS situation is serious. We are doing everything we can to stay on top of the information. We will act accordingly and in the best interest of your education. So that you are not inundated with emails, we will use the website and portal to share the latest information. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out.
