Radio drama was a very popular art form at one time and people could experience dramas, and comedies only by listening. The collaboration of Theater and Communications revived this forgotten art form with our radio play “A Date with Fate” and now it is a Podcast and can be accessed on “The Hive.”
This rare accomplishment and interdisciplinary activity got the attention of the local news media. We were featured in two local news pieces last week which put our students front and center.
And we have received lots of positive feedback from the on and off campus audience who heard the four broadcasts.
“A Date with Fate” is a light piece that is 38 minutes long. Created by local playwright Laura Cunningham, especially for our students, it is, ironically, about the ups and downs of internet dating. Communications Instructors Ed Evans and Tim Skinner and Theater Director Katherine Bacon invite you to listen to our Radio Play, “A Date with Fate” at the Hive.
