SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence

The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence is seeking nominations for students who best demonstrate the integration of SUNY excellence in their lives, highlighting academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, or the arts (creative or performing).

The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence (CASE) acknowledges student’s outstanding achievements. While there is no minimum GPA requirement, candidates are expected to have demonstrated exceptional academic performance. To be eligible, a student must graduate between June 2023 and May 2024.

Students nominated must evidence the integration of SUNY excellence within at least three of the following areas:

  • Academics
  • Leadership
  • Campus Involvement
  • Community Service
  • The Arts (Creative or Performing)

The achievements and accomplishments listed in the nomination should reflect why they are one of the top outstanding students SUNY-wide in each of the selected three areas. Examples of achievements and accomplishments to consider may include, but are not limited to, athletics, advocacy, military service, student government, teaching and service positions, involvement in clubs and organizations, volunteer work, and research experience.

Achievements and accomplishments must have been attained during the timeframe enrolled while at SUNY Broome. Please do not include awards or recognition from previous colleges, high school, or experiences before being enrolled at Broome.

Nominated students with measurable, long-term accomplishments and achievements will be measured (scored) at a higher level than other achievements.

Student’s achievements that affect the greater campus community and/or a large number of students and/or community members will be valued higher than other achievements.

A student may self-nominate or be nominated by a SUNY Broome faculty or staff member.

The student’s resume will be needed with this submission.

Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024

The student being nominated must have graduated or will be graduating from SUNY Broome between July of 2023 and June of 2024.
