Students –

It is with great excitement that the SUNY Student Assembly presents the 2020-2021 SUNY Student Assembly Cabinet Application. The Student Assembly is the overarching student government for the SUNY System, its 1.3 million students, and 64 campuses.

Through this application process, we are looking to identify diverse leaders from across the SUNY system to serve in a variety of vital roles within the organization. The portfolios of each respective position highlight an array of interest areas, including legislative affairs, policy development, system wide committees, and community engagement. We encourage you to review the application to better identify the role that best suits you, seeing that the application houses detailed descriptions and time commitments for the desired roles.

Each student may apply for a maximum of three roles, listing them in order of preference.

To apply you must complete the common application, along with the respective sample work for your top choice. The sample work is not required for subsequent positions, though you may complete it if you wish to do so.

To qualify, each student must be registered at a SUNY institution enrolled in a minimum of one academic credit for the fall 2020 semester and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.25. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, June 1st at 11:59 PM. All application materials including the common application, resume and any requested sample work, should be submitted at one time to

Once you have applied you will be notified of the status of your application in the days following the deadline. Certain applicants will be invited to participate in an interview with the Student Assembly Executive Board.

Please reach out to Chief of Staff Corianna Lipira at, with any questions regarding the application process or any of the positions.
