To celebrate Women’s History Month, the SUNY Broome Women’s Institute, in conjunction with the President’s Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion, is hosting a series of events to highlight local women, their careers, choices and contributions to our community.

Meet Sara Liu at 11 a.m. March 14, 2019, in Titchner 101 to hear about her path in starting a vegan food business. It’s a personal and professional story of successful entrepreneurship reaching from New York to Texas.

Sara Liu is the founder and owner of Parlor City Vegan, an award-winning experimental cafe and vegan foods company. Parlor City Vegan cheeses are featured in restaurants and retailers throughout New York State and Austin, Texas. Parlor City Vegan has been honored by receiving first place in the 2018 SUNY Broome Entrepreneurial Assistance Program Business Plan Competition and the 2018 City Binghamton Business Plan Competition. When she’s not cooking up a storm, Sara can be found hanging out with her husband and two dogs. The Parlor City Cafe is expected to open in April 2019.
