SUNY Broome and The Raymond Corporation hosted the fifth annual Southern Tier Robotics Competition on Wednesday, March 25, at Greene High School. The competition gives area high school students the opportunity to showcase their ingenuity and talent in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) while building and designing robots.
Participating schools included Greene High School; Seton Catholic Central High School; Sidney Elementary School, Junior High School and High School; Maine-Endwell High School; Broome-Tioga BOCES’ Tech Academy; and Harpursville High School.
The autonomous task challenge was won by Greene, while the autonomous line following challenge was won by Sidney. The remote control stacking challenge and the head-to-head remote control challenge were both won by Harpursville. Harpursville also won the Grand Championship.
