LEVEL 1 FLAGS do not trigger outreach by an Academic Coach in and of themselves.  Students are expected to follow up and resolve issue independently using the suggestions provided by you in the comments box.  Email messages are sent to students through Starfish from the faculty raiser notifying them of the flag and including your comments and a list of available resources.  Our Level 1 Flags include:

  • Attendance Concern
  • Low Quiz/Test Scores
  • Missing/Late Assignments
  • Poor Academic Performance
  • Low/Missing Discussions
  • Low Assignment Scores

LEVEL 2 FLAGS receive supportive outreach by an Academic Coach.   Email messages are sent to students through Starfish from the faculty raiser notifying them of the flag and including comments from faculty and available resources.  Coaches contact students to discuss the issue and reinforce next steps for corrective action. Students may also be referred to other campus services by the Academic Coach.  As outreach is attempted and students are contacted, Coaches add comments to the flag and “close the loop” so that the faculty raiser is updated on each step in the process. Our Level 2 Flags include:

  • No Show (Used until census date)
  • In Danger of Failing
  • Recommend Withdrawal (available mid-Feb through last day for “W” grade)
