Joe Croteau After an extended illness, Joe Croteau passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Joe began his almost thirty years of service to our college community on September 8, 1992. During his tenure Joe authored the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, and organized, analyzed and systematically programmed processes for both the Learning Assistance Department’s Notetaking Program and Testing Center. These initiatives provided funding to continue excellent student service while the Department’s staff was decreasing.

Among his many other responsibilities, Joe also served as an ASL interpreter, entertaining his many audiences with his larger-than-life perspectives. Joe’s passions included jazz, computer programming, the mastery of trivial facts, Star Wars, and the artful recitation of Latin Masses in their entirety. Joe Croteau

Joe will be dearly missed by students and colleagues alike; his legacy is a lasting tribute to the spirit of the Learning Assistance Department in commitment to and support of SUNY Broome students.

Calling hours will be held this Thursday, March 22 at the C. H. Landers Funeral Home in Sidney from 2 to 4 and again from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Sacred Heart Church in Sidney.
