Big kudos to Lauren Bunnell, Dani Berchtold, Jeanie Kumpon, Marty Guzzi and Joe Spence for serving in this capacity! Even bigger kudos to Gina Chase, who was both the organizer and a participant.

The Day of Caring was conceived as a remembrance to those who lost their lives during the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001, and to honor the many heroes that evolved from the aftermath of that day. It has continued through the spirit of local volunteers and has grown into an annual tradition. Each year, nearly 1,000 volunteers come together to lend a hand to local non-profits, child care centers, parks and government agencies.

This was the second year that #TeamSUNYBroome volunteered for such an awesome community event. If you want to be involved next year, whether for yourself or to incorporate into your curriculum, contact Gina Chase at chasegm@sunybroome.edu.
